Busy busy busy
Lots has happened in the last week. Kindy finished and the last day concert and party was fun. Then there has been Christmas Cooking and baking to do. We spent the day at Redcliffe one day and then at Mooloolaba so Emma's first swim in the ocean and play at the beach and Hamish learnt to boogie board surf. Oh yeah and we meet our cousins visiting from the UK. Our Christmas lights are up and we have been out a few times at night to see other locals Christmas lights. It is an exciting and tiring time of year.

It's beginning to look like Christmas
Well it had been awhile as seeing Mum's hands were out of action for awhile not too much typing was happening cause it was just too hard so here we are in December and it is starting to look like Christmas. Tomorrow is the playgroup party so Chocolate Marshmallow puddings had to be made and last night was the local Christmas Carols and Fireworks so we all went along. Daddy had to work for the SES but he had time to mind Emma while Mummy and Hamish had a ride on the Dodgem Cars. The fireworks were good but noisy Emma didn't mind them at all but Hamish thought they were too loud and about half way through them wanted them to stop and was getting angry because they weren't. Despite this it was a good fun afternoon/evening.

Guess who is 9months old and look what I can do
Yes I can stand up and reach whatever I want well that is as long as Hamish doesn't see and take it off me. I love the days he goes to Kindy best as I have the place to myself to attack the toys without having to dodge or distract him. Check out the pictures I also stand in my cot when I am supposed to be sleeping. Along with being able to stand this week the other news is my Mum had her surgery on her finger and well her whole right hand is pretty much out of action. She has been in a lot of pain apparently more than even having babies so I try to be good and not touch or knock her hand but the bandage is so interesting and I just wonder when it will come off. Mama and Papa have been helping us a lot and I like playing with them and all the cuddles. Dad has been dressing me a lot more too and he says I am too wriggly and I have to stay still. I am working on that.

E's first Swim
Well whilst the rest of the country was watching the Melbourne Cup we were having a paddle in the paddling pool and having pretend cups of tea. It was E's first ever swim and thanks to her cousin she had lots of togs (bathers) to chose from she decided to go with the pink poka dots as they matched the swim nappy she has also thanks to her cousin. She seemed to enjoy the playing in the water even though it would be the coldest water she has ever been in. So that is how 4 year olds and 8 month olds celebrate Melbourne Cup.

Happy Halloween
Well this is a couple of days late but better late than never. We celebrated Halloween a little again this year which H loves doing - what is not to like you dress up get to stay up a little later than usual and go and knock on peoples doors and they give you treats - it doesn't get much better than this when you are a kid. So here are a couple of pictures. E came along for the ride this year and scored a glow stick anklet from a nice neighbour of ours seeing she couldn't have any sweets. We also decorated the front garden and entry way with fake spider webs and skeletons H thought that was great fun.

Sunday fun at the Trains
Being the 3rd Sunday of the month and with the lovely weather we are having it was off to the steam and deisel trains on Bribie Island. Today we met some friends there for a picnic lunch and they nearly like trains as much as H does. Anyway it was loads of fun and everyone had many rides with the exception of E and Mummy who were in charge of waving as the train goers went bye and taking photos that was in between feeding, rolling and trying to eat leaves and twigs. This is H's favourite Deisel and so the engine driver/owner let him have a photo on it after the ride. Pretty cool hey.
Guess who is 8 months old now
Our darling girl is now 8 months old and trying very hard to crawl so much so that she wouldn't even lie still long enough for the monthly photo with inchworm so that we can see how much she has grown check the photos out. She is a sweet little thing and even though she was born weighing more than her brother she is just a 50 percentile baby no giant by any means we think ths is pretty much just right.

GEC hits home
Things are tough when you have to use the boot of the car as a play pen. Emma the little angel didn't seem to mind though. We do actually have proper and safe places for her to play but as I was putting her car seat back into the car and she just had to be with Mummy (yes she is a bit clingy) the safest place for her was playing in the boot.
Welcoming Babies to the Community Day
A local member of Parliament near here has an annual day when he welcomes new babies to the community so we went along this year with Emma (as we took Hamish along back in 2006). Anyway the member of Parliament now days also just happens to be the Federal Treasurer so Emma scooped the pool compared to Hamish as not only was there Wayne Swan to welcome her but Justine Clarke from Playschool and her husband and 6 week old son Max. I am sure that in time when she becomes a huge Playschool fan she will be thrilled that she has a photo with Justine Clarke as most 3 and 4 year old girls just love her. Anyway it was a nice day although the weather was a bit iffy. Here is a picture of Hamish with is face painted like a Crocodile and Emma doesn't know what to make of it.
